Welcome to English with Dozandri ✨
I'm a professional linguist with over three years of experience in education. I specialize in language and gender across different cultural contexts.
My Bachelor's degree in Linguistics is from Macalester College and my M.A. in Linguistics is from Florida International University. I am currently working on a Ph.D. in Linguistics.
In addition to English, I am a native speaker of Spanish and I speak Russian at an advanced level making me an ideal teacher for students of English from Latin America, Spain, Russia, and Eastern Europe/Eurasia.

I am passionate about helping folks custom-tailor language learning journeys that are affirming of their identities. I am happy to teach students how to navigate conversations about how to switch between conversations in the workplace vs. colloquial speech, formal vs. informal registers, and also how to attune yourself to different varieties of English spoken across the globe. I am happy to schedule lessons with you that best serve your interests with a syllabus (lesson plans) built around your individual needs.My lessons & teaching style
Your first lesson will be an intake assessment to understand your capability to converse in the language, knowledge of vocabulary, and ability to pronounce. I often employ the use of excerpts from a variety of news sources, YouTube clips, and social media to provide a linguistic overview of English that's inclusive of the most recent trends of usage. I am happy to construct a custom lesson plan with grammar, pronunciation, or conversational lessons that best fit your needs including small quizzes, practice dialogues, and writing exercises.

It was a really good lesson as usual.
We discussed difficult topics,talked about financial crises 2008 and the great depression. We used video materials.
Also we had a warm up just for improving my speaking.
