We had a good lesson reviewing homework and learning vocabulary and regional differences. I also enjoyed the cultural lessons of Luo life and land!

Both my son and I had an introductory lessons with Shallete and even though we covered similar material, she changed how she did it with my 7 year old son vs me. She clearly understands that children and adults learn differently. We are excited to keep learning Luo with her!

I enjoyed learning how to negate sentences, so I feel like I have foundations to talk about my day or describe what is happening, and eventually ask and answer questions about these topics. This is great for my 3rd class! I appreciate that Shallete let me ask questions about words I wanted to know.

I liked that already in the second lesson Shallete provided enough information to start constructing simple sentences - I have enough information already to say over 100 sentences with all the tenses and verbs! My son enjoyed learning more numbers and other simple vocabulary in his lesson.

Shallete is amazing! She is so easy and comfortable to talk with and makes helpful corrections both in my language skills and in the broader way that I think about learning and practicing Swahili. She is super flexible and so encouraging. Highly recommend her!!
