College Professor with 30 years experience; italki is a great way to teach and learn English! My name is Jane. I am originally from New York, but I have lived in California for more than 35 years. I love travel, animals, sports, and listening to people to gain new perspectives. Meeting new students and helping them reach their language goals is my passion. I have my undergraduate degree in English from UC Berkeley. I have a Master's in teaching English as a Second Language from San Francisco State University. I have been teaching English for more than 30 years. I like to contextualize lessons by learning about my students and their needs and interests. I can teach any aspect of language (grammar, pronunciation, reading, writing, fluency, etc.) in the context of a student's area of focus or teach more generally-based lessons if desired.
