IMPORTANT: I only teach students aged 13+. My name is Sonia, and I am a TEFL/TESOL-certified ESL tutor from Ghana with over four years of experience teaching English. I am passionate about language learning and education, and I strive to create engaging and effective learning experiences for my students. Beyond teaching, I have a keen interest in literature, television series, and baking. I am currently expanding my skills by studying coding(, HTML, CSS, Python) and Spanish. Additionally, I enjoy practicing yoga and meditation as part of my personal well-being routine. I have a broad range of interests and enjoy meaningful discussions on various topics.

As a teacher, I take a meaning-focused approach with my students. I employ task-based teaching methods in the classroom. In my lessons, I emphasize active communication in English to enhance fluency. I encourage open discussions on topics of interest to create an engaging and interactive learning environment. I will plan well structured lessons to help you develop your proficiency and ability speak to fluently and effortlessly. We can also have conversations or discussions on any topic of your choice to help you practice. No topic is off limits!

Depending on the lesson, my students can expect a different format. I enjoy teaching students of all levels, and my approach is tailored to meet each learner’s individual needs and objectives. My teaching style is adaptable, ensuring that every student receives personalized guidance for their language development. I include many interactive activities in my English lessons. I use a range of digital resources and I try to keep class fun. My classes are safe, judgment free spaces where I patiently work with my students to reach their goals.
