Hello! My name is Mickey, and I’m an English tutor from Cape Town, South Africa. I’m a full-time Communication Studies student and I hold a 120-hour TEFL certificate. Alongside teaching, I run a small crochet business called Cotha, where I make handmade hats.
I have experience teaching conversational English to both teenagers and adults, and I focus on helping students build confidence through natural, meaningful conversations. I also assist with speech preparation, essay writing, editing, and improving sentence structure. My belief is simple: the best way to learn a language is to use it, enjoy it, and be exposed to it often.Me as a Teacher
As a teacher, I have a very dynamic and accommodating approach. I make it my mission to make my students feel as comfortable as possible and I make sure that they feel like an important contribution to the lesson . I am very patient with my learners because I understand how difficult it is to learn a new language and I believe very strongly that compassion for my students is a very important tool in the learning environment. I encourage my students to embrace their mistakes because that is a sign of learning. Most importantly, I take my job very seriously and I try my very best to make sure my students have fun. My lessons are mostly conversational. We will be discussing all kinds of topics while extending your vocabulary and building your confidence with speaking English. I will help you work on your grammar and pronunciation during these fun lessons. All catering to different students from beginner to upper intermediate, to keep challenging my learners. I do create custom made activities after our lesson so you can practice outside of the classroom.My teaching material
