Hi! I’m Tom, a certified English teacher from Britain. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced learner, I can help you to speak more naturally and accurately. I'm friendly and patient, and I am ready to help you progress with your English.
Teaching English has been my work since 2006 and in that time, I’ve guided hundreds of students—from professionals polishing presentations to children mastering basics. I worked in various colleges and language schools before I started teaching online in 2017.
Fun fact: I’m currently living in Panamá and learning Spanish, so I understand the ups and downs of language learning. I also take Spanish lessons right here on italki.Me as a Teacher
My English accent is neutral & easy to understand. I'm from Warwickshire, England.
In general, my lessons focus on helping you to practise speaking and mastering verb tenses. We speak about a topic or focus on something specific. I give you plenty of opportunities to speak, and I help you to express yourself. I can also support you with specific skills, test preparation, presentations, or any of your English language needs!
The majority of my students are adults or children over 7 years of age.
I have teaching qualifications & a degree. I've given presentations at conferences about teaching & delivered training. My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are interactive, and I help you to speak as much as possible! I have a patient and calm teaching style. I will support you as you speak and correct you as necessary.
I have lots of experience teaching grammar and verb tenses in English. I feel that this is something very important.
After our lesson, I like to send you some lesson notes and homework if you wish.
Zoom works very well for lessons, and we can use the classroom whiteboard. The italki classroom is great too!

It's easy to talk to him about any topics. The lessons always have a plan, with new words for each new topic, which is very convenient. I also like that Tom writes pronunciation mistakes and we can discuss them. This way, I can make good progress :)
