My name’s Katrina. I started teaching on iTalki in September 2021. I am originally from China, but I have been living here in Canada for almost 10 years. I speak four different languages which are Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and Hakka. I got my bachelor's degree in Business Information System Management from the UK, and I am also a postgraduate certificate holder in Hospitality Management from Canada. I have been working in different industries for a few years after my graduation, such as banking, hotel, and event planning. I love traveling around the world, and I have been to 16 different countries so far, and I love meeting new people and learning about multiple cultures.Me as a Teacher
I’m a facilitator for English Conversation Circles at one of the colleges in Canada, and I'm currently assisting internetional students from all over the world to practice their spoken English. Also, I'm teaching Cantonese, Hakka, Mandarin and English on iTalki.My lessons & teaching style
There is no certain pattern or format in my class because everyone is unique, so I would use different ways to help my students to learn in a way that they feel comfortable with. I will get to know my students in the first lesson, and I will ask them about their goals and what they want to learn or practice for that language. Then, I will prepare various topics with a bunch of questions, and some idioms or slang for our lessons based on students' needs.
