Hello! A very good day to everyone! My name is Nimwell and I'm teaching English, Cebuano, Tagalog, Filipino Sign Language, and American Sign Language. I was born and raised in the Philippines in the city called Kidapawan where you can find an abundance of tropical fruits and highland springs. I'm an education graduate with Food Service Management as major. I love cooking and watching cooking shows. I am also into sports specifically table tennis. I watch movies, listen to songs, learn a new language, do crochet, and read books in my free time and I love studying and learning cultures and languages.
Me as a Teacher
Having a bond with your student is important in being a teacher. So, if you're looking for a friendly, relaxed, and flexible teacher, I could be the one for you. I will let you speak more and express your thoughts. I will correct your grammar and communication skills as you talk. And don't be afraid to speak. No one will judge you. I will encourage you to improve and be confident.
My lessons & teaching style
1. Fixed or not fixed topics
2. Genuine Tagalog, Cebuano, ASL, and FSL conversations.
3. Large practice on building sentences and paragraphs.
4. Provide new vocabulary list every time and expect making sentences as your homework.
5. Grammar learning only when you have repeated grammar mistakes.
6. Pronunciation and signing correction.

I have been taking lesson once a week for 8 months now because I really want to communicate with my husbands family in Bisaya. When i first started i'd say I could understand 15-20% of their conversations. Now after only 8 months its up to 50-65% and I can also express myself for basic things. I feel very happy with the progress and excited to see more progress in the future.

I have had almost 10 ASL classes with Nim so far, and she has been so awesome! I was a complete beginner in our first session, and today we had a really great lesson in which I was able to stumble through signing a conversation with her for almost 20 minutes! So stoked about my progress! Nim is a very patient and flexible teacher. She always makes sure to correct me when I sign incorrectly, and we can adapt the classes to whatever I want to do in the moment - even if that means she has to fingerspell a lot of words in a row so I can practice my reading comprehension! I really appreciate that she sends me videos of her signing the signs we've learnt in class, because it can be difficult sometimes to find ASL resources on the Internet. She encourages me to sign, not speak, whenever I can and also does the same. Overall, I've really enjoyed my classes with Nim so far.
Thanks so much Nim! I look forward to taking many more classes with you :)

Nim is very good at what she does as a tutor. In just half an hour I've learned quite a lot in Bisaya. I would recommend anyone to take her class.

I had such a fun time during my lesson. Nim is an excellent teacher. She adapts to what you want to learn and gives great examples. She is very encouraging and patient. Her notes are very helpful to be able to look back on. She is very knowledgeable about sentence structure, grammar, vocabulary. She is mindful of my goals of wanting to be able to talk to my relatives conversationally but also teaches me the formal way to say things. Iโm looking forward to more classes with her! I would highly recommend her!
