Learn Swahili in the most fun and interactive manner! My name is Maureen, a native born Swahili and Dholuo teacher from Kenya. Swahili being a national language in my country, I have been speaking in Swahili for the better part of my life. I love to travel and listen to country music, apart from Dholuo, I speak Swahili and English fluently and I understand fully what it takes for someone to learn a new language and how to make my potential students feel comfortable by making the learning process more exciting and practical. I would love to share my Swahili and Dholuo language skills with italki students. I am patient and empathetic which are very important skills required when it comes to teaching a new language. I specialize in the basics of Swahili and Dholuo, conversation practice and sentence construction in both Swahili and Dholuo language. For several years of working in my field of work, I have perfected my confidence and conversation skills since it involves meeting and having a one on one conversation with my clients. My confidence will also be of great help as an italki community tutor since all the lessons will be conducted virtually. During class time, I will be giving out quizzes and focus more conversations by trying to put into practice what we have learnt, Providing explanations to new terms and vocabularies in both languages as I patiently correct my students in a more friendly manner, giving well structured assignments to help me in evaluating my students progress.
