About Me

My name is Charlie Ehrman. I am a native English speaker, born and raised in New York. I currently live in Los Angeles, California. I studied filmmaking in university here in Los Angeles, California. I have also studied Spanish in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. I fluently speak Spanish and I am at an elementary level in Japanese. I have a passion for learning and teaching languages. When I am not learning or a teaching a new language, I enjoy listening to music, and watching cinema. I love learning about other cultures and sharing pieces of my culture. I look forward to meeting you!

Me as a Teacher

As a teacher, I want to cater to you as a student. I can provide a lesson and theme to you from my curriculum, or if you prefer, you can provide me a subject or theme of your choice. I have been a student on italki in the past, so I understand the process and difficulties of learning a 2nd language. Therefore, I am here to make you feel comfortable in speaking English. With me as a teacher, I will help you become more conversational in English. I will also provide an understanding of regional accents of the United States which will allow to understand aspects of media and pop culture.

My lessons & teaching style

My style of teaching is through conversational English. If you are an advanced student, I can help you perfect your English through pure conversational practice. If you are a beginner, I can help you learn and perfect your grammar and pronunciation, and solve any doubts you may have. Si el español es su primer idioma, puedo ayudarlo explicándole partes difíciles del inglés en español si lo prefiere. From my experience in learning other languages, I believe practicing through conversation is one of the fastest ways to reach fluency in a language.
