About Me

I love talking about everything, either what's familiar to me or what's new and strange. I've two degrees in History, and I'm attending a PhD at the Vatican Apostolic Library, but I love talking both about books, music, travelling, culture and things that are new to me :)Me as a Teacher
I am a native Italian speaker, graduated in History and Historical sciences. I'm doing a PhD at Vatican Apostolic Library about archives; i've learnt English for 5 years (getting a C2 certification), Latin and Greek at school for 5 years (and then improved them at university) and I've been teaching Italian/ English for 8 years both to foreign students and local ones. I try to make the student feel at ease.My lessons & teaching style
My motto is "The student is the teacher": this means that - in each lesson - the student will be the one to choose and propose to me what he prefers doing, according to his needs and wishes. Teaching is a mutual learning for me, so that why I love receving feedbacks during our lessons.
Sometimes I prepare some material in advance, I can suggest apps, videos, movies, books or tv shows that I find helpful and I could give some "homework" as well - only if the student wants.My teaching material

My first lesson exceeded expectations. Olga is willing to teach in the way that I want to learn. In our first lesson I could see that she was taking notes as I tried my best to explain my preferred learning method. She knew of a number of written resources in Neapolitan even though there are not a lot that exist, as Neapolitan almost entirely a spoken language. We have developed a plan to go forward using a shared doc. Olga is very easy going and engaged with both the material and with me as a students, so I'm looking forward to continuing.

I've been preparing to sing a program of Neapolitan songs in concert and my lessons with Olga have been invaluable. She critiques my pronunciation, helps me translate text, and even takes the time to do her own research into the history of each song so that I can have a deeper understanding of them. She even takes the time to analyze recordings of the songs with me. These sessions have made a huge difference for me both linguistically and musically, and I can't wait for more!!
