Jane is an excellent teacher, and does a great job of making me feel comfortable. In addition, she does a good job of having planned lesson topics while having the flexibility to go more into depth about a particular topic, or be helpful for any tangents or additional topics that I might bring up during the lesson. Jane is also very attentive towards our lessons on a bigger scale. She remembers the topics that we have previously discussed, and does a great job of supporting me in areas that I struggle with more frequently. She is also always punctual for our lessons and has material prepared in advance. I would definitely recommend Jane to anybody looking to learn conversational Chinese, and am more than happy at what I have gotten out of my lessons for the money.

Attending Jane’s conversational Mandarin classes has been a great experience. I couldn’t recommend her enough. She’s an amazing tutor for anyone who’s learning Mandarin, especially students who are very shy to speak a foreign language🤣. I appreciate that no matter how badly stuck I am when forming a sentence in Mandarin, Jane will always patiently and encouragingly help me find the right words. If you're looking for an easygoing, adaptable Mandarin teacher, Jane is your girl! As an American-born Taiwanese person who grew up learning and speaking Mandarin but lack adult-level vocabulary and modern understanding of Taiwanese society, I signed up for Jane's classes to help me up-level my Mandarin vocabulary, particularly related to everyday activities and common encounters (i.e., restaurants, coffee shops, transportation) so that I can feel confident the next time I'm back in the motherland. I chose Jane because I wanted someone who has a more worldly view as well, who is able to understand and bridge cultures. Since Jane has lived abroad before and is extremely outgoing and friendly, I felt we would get along well, and we do. I definitely recommend Jane if you're looking to level up your Mandarin with someone who is friendly, patient, and knowledgable!

Jane is a FANTASTIC tutor: patient enough to let you try things out yourself, perceptive enough to know when to step in and help, and enthusiastic enough to make you want to keep learning. I started as a complete beginner, and felt motivated to study more & more after each lesson. Would highly recommend!

Jane is an excellent conversationalist and I can't recommend her more highly. She prepares well for a topic with good resources and questions, and then engages you very naturally, listening out for the way you use the language, then provides guidance and correction as to how to express certain things. I definitely feel more confident and empowered to speak more mandarin now. The lessons are practical and relevant, addressing topics such as societal issues and current affairs. She's really positive too and brings a very fun vibe to class. Class time passes too fast!
