Hi everyone! This is Karen from Guangzhou, China. Guangzhou is a city full of history and diversity. As a Cantonese who was born and grew up in Guangzhou, I'm very interested in language learning and teaching. I can speak Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese as my mother tongues, fluent English, and some Japanese and Thai language. In my spare time, I like cooking, hiking and ballet. I have been a Chinese teaching volunteer for overseas students at college for 4 years and a tutor in a language training institution for kids for 3 years. I have made friends from Thailand, Pakistan, Equatorial Guinea, etc. I also organized and participated in some cross-cultural events like visiting local attraction, making paper cuttings and introducing “Yum Cha” culture of Guangdong. The experience really helps me have better understanding of different cultures.My lessons & teaching style
I bring systematized and careful explanation in my lesson. Meanwhile I have specific teaching plans for different students. Holding the teaching concept that “Interest is the best teacher”, I am confident that I can make you grow to like my country or my city in my lesson by showing you the real life, delicious food, popular city, internet buzzwords, and film, etc.My teaching material
