About Me

Hello! I was born and raised in New York City but my parents are from Thailand. Therefore, I am a native English and Thai speaker. I graduated from The City College of New York in 2022 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology. Due to my love for teaching and writing, I aspire to become an elementary school teacher and published author!
Aside from tutoring English on italki, I'm an Academic Tutor/Receptionist at my alma mater. I basically tutor college students and help them earn good grades in courses such as psychology, speech, English, statistics, and beginner Spanish and Portuguese. My hobbies include learning K-pop dances, writing fiction, and playing The Sims 4!Me as a Teacher
I've been teaching English online since September 2021. My experience working with students have started in 2016 when I was a Mentor for middle school students. Then, I became a Reading Volunteer for a second-grader, I tutored college students for a statistics class, and later, I became a Teaching Assistant for an Introduction to Psychology course at the City College of New York where I had to manage of classroom of eighteen students, plan lessons, and grade papers. Throughout these experiences, I have gained many skills such as patience, understanding, and the ability to adapt to online teaching!My lessons & teaching style
My teaching style is relaxed and casual. I aim to create a safe and welcoming environment for my students. In my lessons, my students get to practice English through fun and engaging activities, they will get the opportunity to use commonly spoken phrases, and receive helpful feedback from me! I also assign homework and assignments if the student requests for it and I use active learning methods to help my students improve their English skills.My teaching material

SEEK Tutor/College Assistant▪ Tutor college students from the SEEK program in subjects such as Psychology, Applied Statistics, and Portuguese.
▪ Improve students' understanding by reviewing their course content and providing feedback on their assignments.
▪ Greet incoming visitors at the front desk and navigate students with scheduling tutoring appointments.

Today was Lesson #9 with Kru Pitcha and we covered classifiers. It was a difficult topic with a lot of grammar and sentence structure along with vocabulary. Kru Pitcha was prepared, had many resources for me to use after class as well as went through individually how to use multiple classifiers with different subjects, numbers, and nouns. It was a really fun class and I am learning so much. Definitely take notes along with the notes she provides as it will help you recall complicated vocabulary and sentence structures!
