I am a Ghanaian woman born in th US who forgot the Twi learned during childhood. I am starting from scratch, and decided to have my first complete lesson with Perry. During the lesson, he was very organised and supportive. Perry gave me lots of positive re-enforcement and made sure I had plenty of time for review to feel confident before moving on to the next step. I'd definitely recommend. The real fun starts after the trial for sure! (The italki link was not working, and he was very accomodating to switch to zoom and find a solution.)

Dacosta was very patient during our class. He is very flexible to his students' needs. I am a heritage speaker of the language, so he was able to teach me without speaking English, therefore I received full immersion. During our class, Dacosta was able to provide explanations that many native speakers are not capable of explaining properly. I feel confident that he will be able to assist me with reaching my language goals. Looking forward to the next class!

She takes her time to explain each word thoroughly and gives several examples to make sure it sticks. She’ll then wait for you to repeat it back, offering corrections where needed. Highly recommend

I have completed about six Akan Twi lessons with Kwabena, and I can highly recommend him as a teacher. He is very knowledgeable about the Twi language and different dialect variations, he explains extremely well the grammatical structures, and he can also explain the everyday use of the language. Great first lesson. Adowa has that right mix between friendly warm and professional organisational dimension to her session. As far as first introductory lessons go I was impressed we started of with determining my level through conversation. Her focus seems to be building her students confidence to speak Twi rather than writing, which I appreciate as someone who is seeking it for informal use mainly, and basic instructions in a work context.

Today, we reviewed our previous lesson and I was tasked to explain (in Twi) the things I had done the previous day. This was challenging because I had to remember Twi vocabulary and learn new grammar structures. The challenge was good because I was forced to think and implement what I have been learning during our classes. I look forward to more of this type of lesson.
