Chichewa & English Teacher I have been teaching English for 10 years, inside and outside of the United States. I primarily have experience teaching refugees in the US (particularly one-on-one) and I spent 2 years teaching English to secondary school students in Malawi, a small land-locked nation in Southern Africa. I have a TEFL certification in English and an LPI (OPI) certification from the ACTFL in Chichewa. I think there is a place for native and non-native speakers in teaching. I can help a lot with the grammar and rules of Chichewa, since I had to learn them all myself.

I can recommend Austin 1000%. I had 11 Chichewa lessons with him, and I loved his lessons and the flexibility in accommodating to what I needed. I requested to learn from Chichewa conversations, thus we did this. At the end of a lesson he had always written down the words/grammar I missed in a google doc, super effective to learn from. He is also very reliable and responsive: always there, and multiple times he put additional effort in creating extra time slots for me when he had run out.
