Learning Croatian

I have been learning Croatian with Zrinka for about 4 months now and have nothing but good things to say. She has not only been an incredible teacher, but also a great resource for Croatian culture and history. She is very passionate about teaching and has been patient with me and my progress. Her lessons are engaging, and she is good at finding common interests and incorporating them into our lessons. For example, we both enjoy films, so some of our vocabulary and sentence creation have been based around that topic. She will match your pace and supplement lessons with real-world material, which has been very helpful to me with contextualizing the language. I would 110% recommend her to anyone trying to learn Croatian.

Veronika is hands down the best teacher. She adapts all our classes to my peculiar learning style, giving me structure and examples when needed, or keeping the conversation natural otherwise. I barely knew anything at the beginning, and after a few lessons, I can now get by during conversations, thanks to her patience and determination for me to speak correctly. Croatian was my first step into slavic languages and she knew how to guide me through the complex and singular grammar without making it boring, I would even say enjoyable. Marija is a fantastic Croatian teacher. From the very first lesson, she quickly understood how I learn best. She gives great explanations and appreciates the challenges of learning a language so different from English. Our lessons have become one of the highlights of my week. She is kind and patient, and happy to answer any questions I have. Marija always seems to know just how much to challenge me. Even if I’m not feeling confident, she gently pushes me beyond what I think I can do, and I often end up surprising myself. I've made so much progress over the past few months and my confidence has grown. Marija’s lessons are always well structured, interesting and fun. She has such a warm personality and a great sense of humour - our lessons fly by and always leave me wanting to learn more!

Absolutely enjoyed Croatian lessons with Julijana. As a non-native speaker and someone whose mother language (Mandarin) is nowhere close to Croatian, these lessons have been surprisingly easier than I imagined - they are very well-organized and progresses at a suitable speed so you won't feel lost or discouraged. There is also plenty of time for you to speak and practice during each class. I have only been booking lessons for six months and I feel like I've already learned so much!

Marko is a natural born professor who clearly loves language and loves teaching---moreover, he has the ability to get students speaking it quickly. He is the man for anyone interested in learning the language in it's full context including; literature, music, art and humor. He's flexible and classes are always fun. I'm very lucky to have found him.

Learning the Croatian language with Tina is like learning with a friend. She is a such a friendly person. She has a great knowledge and answers me very patient to all my questions. Dora je sjajna učiteljica! :) After over two months of regular lessons I can tell that Dora is a wonderful teacher! She's a very interesting and open-minded person, so you never run out of topics: language, culture, people, everyday life, world issues. Her list of conversational topics is outstanding and we barely scratched the surface :) She creates a pleasant, opuštenu (relaxed) atmosphere during the lesson, encourages you to speak and gives very practical feedback. Thanks to her education and experience of living in different cities of the region and abroad, she has an excellent command of not only Croatian, but also Bosnian and Serbian (not to mention Spanish, Catalan and English). She knows everything about grammar and the standard language, which can be helpful if you're inquisitive :D As an upper-intermediate, I recommend her to students of all levels.
