I like to encourage a positive and curious attitude about the language. I emphasize humor, curiosity and a relaxed setting. Working together, we can enhance your language proficiency through engaging in conversation and practicing pronunciation. It is important to note that the lessons are tailored to meet your specific needs, so do utilize our time together wisely. Norwegian grammar rules will be incorporated into the lessons as needed, and corrective feedback will be provided if desired. Sammen kan vi prøve å forbedre dine språkkunnskaper med samtaler og uttaleøvelser. Leksjonene er fokusert på deg, så bruk tiden klokt! Norsk grammatikk vil bli implementert og korreksjon vil bli gjort hvis ønsket. Заедно можем да поемем по вашия път на овладяването на езика!

Norwegian Intensive Courses for levels A1, A2 and B1, B2 | Norwegian Lessons I teach intensive courses in Norwegian. The next round of intensive courses starts in March/April. There is a mini intensive, as well as a full intensive course. I do not have a single approach to teaching because all of my students are different, but whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, I will adapt my teaching style to your needs. For the intensive courses I take a traditional approach to teaching, I use a textbook in combination with online exercises, but I am flexible in my teaching methods and willing to work with your learning style.

I use the target language (if you feel comfortable with it) to ensure you improve quickly through conversation practice! It's important to me that you speak as much as possible and push your limits to ensure improvement! I am open to doing anything, so no matter where you are from or how you like to learn I am willing to adapt to that. I focus on helping you with your needs and also provide homework suited to your way of life and schedule to ensure what we learned stays safe inside your memory bank. Even though I have studied various subjects, my primary academic background is in teaching and Nordic Studies. I have taught in Norwegian upper and lower secondary schools for a number of years, covering various subjects. I generally try to adapt my lessons to my students' wishes and needs. Whether you want to improve your pronunciation, learn grammar, or simply have conversations, I strive to make the lessons as interesting and engaging as possible. I also have a strong academic background in Scandinavian Studies and Nordic literature. If you're interested in Norwegian culture, history, or literature, I can incorporate that into our lessons.

Standard Oslo Dialect (Bokmål) Learn Through Speaking! All students are different, though most want a combination of theory and practice! It is the most common preference of students to learn 50% theory (following text- and workbooks), and 50% speaking practice. I will ask you about what you prefer, and we can try different things. - Have prepared many students to pass Norwegian exams, successfully.

Experienced Norwegian Educator: Thousands of Successful Lessons Delivered with Expertise Objectively summarizing oneself can be a daunting task, so I often leave it to my students to sketch their own impressions. Looking back at my own schooling, the memory of stern, results-focused teachers still looms large—those whose approach we might recall less than fondly. In contrast, it was the educators who wove humor, patience, and empathy into their teaching who truly made a lasting impact. I warmly regard these individuals with the term "HYGGELIG." While dictionaries may render this Norwegian word as "pleasant" or "cozy," it embodies a deeper, almost ineffable sense of warmth and contentment, a concept that goes beyond the constraints of language.

Trøndersk dialect (Trondheim/Trøndelag area) I want to make you comfortable with making mistakes. My priority is making the process enjoyable and fun, instead of making it school-like and boring. I believe in Stephen Krashen's way of acquiring languages (like babies do). If you learned English as your second language, I will try my best to replicate that process.

English 🇺🇸🇬🇧 - norsk 🇳🇴 - español 🇪🇸 - português 🇧🇷🇵🇹 - русский 🇷🇺 - polski 🇵🇱 - Deutsch 🇩🇪🇦🇹 I teach Norwegian in a structured and consistent way that helps concentrate on the differences between student's first language and Norwegian. I focus on the trickiest parts of grammar and phrases that seem to make no sense in other languages. This enhances the process and helps my students save time and money without feeling exhausted at the end of the lesson.

Teacher with an adventurous soul As I learned Spanish as an adult, I understand the journey of learning a new language, the fear of speaking out loud and saying anything wrong. But I also know that that is the way to learn, from our mistakes. I will make you feel comfortable right away, I am very outgoing, and I always try and find common ground so we can get to know each other! I tend to be a bit humorous when it comes to understanding and looking at not only Norwegian but cultural characteristics in general. Since I have a good ear for languages and after living abroad for a long time, I can help you create bridges and memorize words, phrases, and sentences based on cultural similarities.
