I truly enjoy our lessons. I'm a beginner and I can ensure you that Lee Laoshi teaches in an efficient and fun way indeed! You can feel that she's a professional and that she has an extensive educational and pedagogical background. She listens carefully to all your needs and cater to them - whether you need to practice for school, work, whether it's going to be grammar or conversational mandarin - she's got you covered. Always well prepared. Even homework is well thought-through and customised for your needs. She's patient, helpful and encouraging. She uses real-life examples - when i was learning large numbers we would go on estate stales websites and use the prices as a learning tool😁 Each week, after those 45min I feel genuine improvement in tones pronunciation, speech comprehension and understanding practiced grammar structures. I was so lucky to find a teacher this good!!! 謝謝老師!

I really like Lucy's approach to teaching. I am just starting my learning but through couple of classes with Lucy, I am already able to read some paragraphs. I am always looking towards next class.

Ruru is a wonderful Chinese teacher, so every time I leave feedback, there’s more praise to be said about her! She is very familiar with traditional Chinese culture, and even though our classes are fully immersive, it’s clear she is also very knowledgeable about other world cultures (for example, European, Japanese). Her pronunciation is beautiful, and she actually knows how to teach it to non-natives. Ruru is extremely dedicated to her students’ progress, and is also willing and able to share Youtube videos, podcasts, and other helpful online resources. She is a supremely talented teacher and totally committed to her students’ success. Worth studying with as often as you can :)

Oh wow - I am SO excited after this lesson. Sally made me feel comfortable and excited to start this learning journey. I appreciated her casual and easy demeanor and it is very clear that she knows exactly what she is doing. I even got some homework to do until next time - first time I have been excited for homework in many years. :-) 謝謝你莎莉

小白上課認真幽默,對學生非常耐心,願意耐心聽學生表達再給教導,非常推薦。 Carl is attentive, patient and humorous in his instruction, a great teacher for both Mandarin and Taiwanese, highly recommended.

I've been studying with Suyuan laoshi for about a month now, and I'm so glad I found her! I'm a beginner working toward being able to converse with my wife's family in Mandarin, and she's been exactly the right teacher for that goal. Her teaching style is a great mix of structure and flexibility — she balances solid lesson materials with real conversation practice, which keeps things practical instead of just textbook-y. She's patient and clear, and always encouraging, which makes a big difference when you're just starting out and stumbling over tones. Every lesson she helps me build out fuller sentences, expands my vocabulary, and gently corrects my pronunciation without making me feel self-conscious about it. A month in, I already feel more confident. Highly recommend Suyuan laoshi if you're looking for a teacher who's supportive, adaptable, and genuinely invested in your progress!

You ever find a newly opened restaurant that flew under everyone's radar but has crazy good food? You go in and you're like "wait why isn't everyone eating here, this is GREAT!" Well, that's Regina! Right now, she's the new chef- I mean, 中文 teacher on the block, and pretty soon she's going to be taking over and opening new franchises everywhere once people catch on to how impressive she is. Okay, bad analogy aside, in just my first 30 minute lesson, she showed her years of teaching experience, taking me through a neat and well structured reading/conversation practice document. I can read enough Chinese to begin to stumble my way through almost every sentence, yet finish almost none of them - and she was super patient and helpful in picking out the characters or words I didn't know, and sending them to me afterwards for reviewing. I wanted to write a bit more but italki is oppressing me and my review length. Anyway, try out Regina, you won't be disappointed!

Patty is phenomenal. Her lesson lessons are the perfect balance of free conversation, practice and structured vocabulary. I am a Mandarin speaker learning Taiwanese Hokkien, and she is able to identify key similarities, and differences between the two languages. She also has materials prepared which she sends before and after classes. I would highly recommend Patty.

I've taken a few lessons with this teacher now and I always really enjoy them. He comes prepared with materials and gives me thorough notes after class so that I can just focus on speaking during class. Very patient and helpful, giving me the opportunity to try to find the right words but also stepping in to help when I need it.

I had my first class with teacher Abby. I was very nervous at first because I have never taken any classes before, but she's very kind and patient. She takes time to explain and re-explain pronounciations and let's you make mistakes without giving you a bad feeling about it. I would highly recommend her class!
