My experience with Awethu continues to be outstanding. She has an advanced understanding of many languages that include English, Xhosa, Zulu and Afrikaans, and it shows in her ability to explain grammar, use and understand slang as well as formal language. As a Native English speaker myself, I am impressed of how well she is able to explain things in regards to the Xhosa culture and language and relate those things to an English speaker. She is also very understanding of the challenges that I face while trying to learn a second language, and that means a lot to someone who has never spoken a second language. I am very much looking forward to continuing to my language studies with Awethu.

Super amazing lesson! We went over a lot in an hour. Naledi is really good at assessing your needs and guiding you, regardless of current language level. I had a tiny bit of experience with Xhosa and more with Zulu and learning other languages which Naledi picked up on and tailored the lesson around. The lesson felt like a natural flow between working of conversational vocab, grammar, and pronunciation. It was really quite enjoyable and quite good. It was a super efficient use of time and money so I am definitely booking more lessons.

Molo! Igama lam ngu Miriam. A great first lesson with Nelly! I'm a total beginner in Xhosa and need some basic knowledge of this language for a project. Nelly was very patient and supportive. Absolutely amazing! was not sure about the whole italki tutor thing as i was new to this, plus was a bit nervous but Busi was splendid got to know me and was actually really interested. We were also able to dive into the lesson ,such a free flowing class and you never feel shy . I am definitely coming back for more English and Xhosa lessons.
