Meaning: finish doing / unfortunately do

Form: Te-form + しまう

eg. 宿題(しゅくだい)を忘(わす)れてしまいました。 I unfortunately forgot my homework.

Meaning: while doing

Form: Verb stem + ながら

eg. 音楽(おんがく)を聞(き)きながら勉強(べんきょう)します。 I study while listening to music.

Meaning: plan to

Form: Dictionary form + 予定だ

eg. 来年(らいねん)日本(にほん)へ行(い)く予定です。 I plan to go to Japan next year.

Meaning: must / have to

Form: Verb ない-form + なければならない

eg. 明日(あした) 早(はや)く起(お)きなければなりません。 I have to get up early tomorrow.

Meaning: try doing

Form: Te-form + みる

eg. この料理(りょうり)を作(つく)ってみます。 I’ll try making this dish.
