This word means "bus". Another word with the same meaning and widely used in Argentina is "colectivo". 

In the rest of Latin America, different words are used. In general, the most neutral word is "autobús".

When something is very elegant or refined. It is the equivalent of posh. In Argentina there is even a "cheto" accent, characteristic of some upper class people.

The word /rat is used to describe stingy people.  The phrase "no seas rata" literally translates as "you are a rat" but the meaning is "you are so stingy".  This is very common in informal settings, mainly among friends.

The word -ortiba- also written as -ortiva- means spoilsport. It can also mean whistleblower, depending on the context.

The word "zarpado" is used in two very different situations.

1- When something is very cool: ¡que zarpado! (how cool!).

2- When something is very out of place or inappropriate: "te zarpaste" (you went too far!)

It's the translation of hey. It's used in informal settings but you may also hear this word in the workplace. It is usually said in an affectionate way. People use this word to get your attention or to start a sentence.

It is used to refer to young people (children, adolescents and young adults). Informal word.

Commonly this word means -type-. But in many occasions it is used to refer to a man. There is also a feminine version of this word: tipa.

-Ella es un poco boluda.

There is the noun -grasa-, which means fat. But there is also the adjective -grasa-, which means gross.

Adjective used to describe a person who talks nonsense or who tries to deceive by what they say.

Chamuyero, chamuyera.

The informal way we say money. Another very common form in Argentina is "plata".
