4-5. 道を案内するときに使うことば

つきあたり / the end (of a street)
例）その店ならこの道の突き当たりにありますよ。 / / You’ll find the store at the end of the street.

てまえ / this side; the near side
例）小学校の手前 / just this side of the primary school

さき / (the way) ahead; beyond
例）ここから２キロ先に / two kilometres ahead [on]

むかい / the opposite side [place]
例）彼は私の家の向かいに住んでいる。 / He lives opposite our house [across the street from us].

ななめ[まえ・うしろ] / diagonal
例）斜め後ろの席 / a seat diagonally to the rear

むかって[みぎ・ひだり] / on one’s left; on the (right/left) as one faces (it)

[みぎ・ひだり・むかい]がわ / the (right/left/opposite) side
例）道の向こう側に / over the road; across the street

はしをわたる / cross a bridge
