This is not really a question that can be answered in a short post here.
The verb 'get' has many meanings, in particular when combined with a preposition or other words in a collocation...
Get off
Get over
Get out of
Get on
Get in
Get by
Get to
Etc.
Etc........
In my dictionary there must be well over 100 entries for "get" with different meanings and formulations and collocations...
The best thing you can do is go to an online dictionary - e.g. Collins/ Cambridge/ Merriam-Webster.
Do a search for 'get' and look at all the example sentences that you find and slowly you will get an idea of the correct way to use this verb including the '-ing' form.
Just pick a few that you think might be useful to you now now and make a note of them in your flashcards or vocabulary lists.
Don't even try to remember too many at a time. You will quickly become confused đ€.
Every time you see this word in a text, make a note of it and observe how it is used, and with what meaning, in the context in which it is given.
