Hi for everyone! Could anyone explain to me what's the difference between 'other' and 'another' in the following sentence? He seems very jealous of her because he thinks that she is texting to another man Can I use in this context the word 'other'? Thanks a lot for helping in advance!

Another = an other (as in an apple): refers to singular Other = more than one, non specific amount. He suspects she's talking with other men. He suspects she's talking with another man.

In your case, you talk first about One man, and after another one. Other is used to mentioned something for the first time or different to something that has already been mentioned.
