I’m wondering about the idioms in English. I mean, I see a lot of book from where you can learn idioms and I assume that is something very important to know. I know every language has his specific idioms. I learned them in Spanish too and when I had the DELE exam there were a lot of questions and in order to know the write answer you need to know the meaning of the idioms. Now, I would like to read about your experience. Did you learned idioms by memorizing them or in other ways? Thank you very much!

My own view [opinion] is that you shouldn't set out to learn them unless you have come across [seen or heard] them in English. There are a very large number and some are outdated or not commonly used.
