Throughout the history of education, educational experts are looking for ways to evaluate the knowledge level of students. Oral tests, essay exams, and multichoice exams are some of them. In my view, the last one is the worse! My preferable way for taking an exam is essay exams. First, they pose less stress on me. Stress is an inevitable/integral part of tests but the multiple-choice style fuels it. This is because you have less answer time so you have to answer questions in a hast, which more likely to choose an incorrect option. Second, you can receive a higher score on an essay exam. For example, consider you have to solve a problem on a mathematics exam. If you find the solution but reach an incorrect result due to some calculation/arithmetic errors, you still have a chance to gain a portion of the score in the essay examination. However, you will not get any score on a multiple-choice test even though you know how to solve it. All in all, I do not credit objective tests because not only do they impose unnecessary anxiety on students, but they also will hinder students from getting the score deserved.
