1.The director wasn`t satisfied and didn't let us go until we stopped missing steps and
showcased/ performed an excellent play at the dress rehearsal. 2. The actors tried so hard to give
it their all, that when they went to the curtain call they received an uproarious
applause. 3. Never in a million years has an actor played his/her part so well. It was
because the play was a vehicle. 4. Every playwright gets a creative license, but
not everyone can make it spectacular. 5. The director thought that it was time
to write that play off, but unexpectedly it received a standing ovation at the
finale. 6. The pupil skipped the lesson all the time, but after speaking
with the dean, he got his act together. 7. The successful play on stage is the
result of a collaborative effort of all people, not only actors. 8. I don`t like
black comedies, they are too cruel. 9. I can`t stand doing work in the nick of
time. 10. If your friend wants to say their piece, it`s not polite to interrupt
them.
