Amazing grace How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I'm found Was blind, but now I see 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed My chains are gone I've been set free My God, my Savior has ransomed me And like a flood, His mercy rains Unending love, Amazing grace The Lord has promised good to me His word my hope secures He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures The Earth shall soon dissolve like snow The sun forbear to shine But God, Who called me here below Will be forever mine يا له من لطف عجيب! ( يا له من صوتٍ عذب)! أنقذ عبدا ً تعيسا ً من هلاك. كنت ضالا ً فاهتديت، كنت أعمى فرأيت. لطفه علـّم قلبي أن يخاف، للمخاوف لطفه خير شاف، كم ْ ثمينا ً ذلك اللطف بدا، ساعة ً فيها قلبــي اهتدى. في المخاطر والمصـائب والمحن، التي زارت حياتي كسنن، ليس إلا ّ لطفه فرّجهــــا، لطفه أوصلني بَر الأمان، لطفه أرشدني صوب الوطن. لم يعدني ربي إلا ّ كل خير ٍ وجميـل، أودع آمالي في حصن ٍ حصين، هو درعي هو زادي، طالما في الكون حياة. عندما يذوي قلبي والجسد، وتنطوي كل حياة للأبد، في ردائي سأظل حاملا ً بهجة الدنيا وأسباب ألهنا. هذه الأرض كثلج ستذوب، وخيوط الشمس تخفت وتزول، ما خلا الله الذي خاطبني في هذا المكان، في حياتي سيظل ما دام الزمان.
