Does the word "relish" mean "enjoy something that's happening right now" or is it about something in the past? Or is it to do with anticipating something possibly pleasant in the future?

It means take great pleasure from something and that thing can be at any time.
I really relish my alone time.
I relished the chance to meet my hero.
In my new job, I'll relish the opportunity to work with experts in my field.
