I want to say that someone was a part of/participated in certain clubs in school days. Are both of these prepositions - in & on - okay to use?
“I was **on** the basketball team in high school.”
“I was **in** the basketball team in high school.”
“She was **on** the film club in middle school.”
Hope you could answer if the two prepositions are interchangeable or not. Thanks a lot in advance!

If it is a club, always use “in”.
If it is a team, always use “on”.
I am IN the chess club.
I am ON the baseball team.
