Medication and medicine can both refer to a drug you have been prescribed by a healthcare professional. => "He was prescribed a cough medicine/medication by his doctor" Medicine can also refer to the discipline/medical science itself => "Modern day medicine has saved many lives" / "My brother is studying medicine at university"

Medication is a treatment that uses medicine. Example) I'll give you a medication for your stomachache. You can get the medicine in the pharmacy or just get a shot(something like a vaccination or a needle) Medicine is what you get when you are sick. (💊) Example) did you take your cold medicine? It's already lunch time.
