Osaka Expo will be held in 2025, but Osaka also hosted the Expo in 1970. My mother went to the Expo on a school trip and it was her first time seeing a foreigner. (The foreigner was not a famous person there for a pavilion [is this what you meant?]) She and many of her friends were excited about seeing a foreign person and asked him for an autograph. He gave her one [or "he gave it to her"], but at the end he seemed to get tired of giving autographs because it was too much [or "too many people asked him."] What a huge difference 50 years makes. The world has become much smaller and connected.
