Hey Tye, Not many. Swahili written in Arabic script (called Ajami) is no longer widely used. It is found in archival documents and poetry but not in modern usage. Make the switch to Latin script because even native Swahili speakers would find it hard to read the Arabic script unless they are familiar

Very few people use it in the present day. However, a handful of poets between the 1900s-40s from the coastal communities especially Lamu and Zanzibar used it. These documents are hard to come by too.

I just began learning Swahili but currently am struggling to remember pronunciation. Using Arabic script to write Swahili has proved to be useful for me so far. Though for the sake of practicality, should I continue to learn the language with Arabic script or just revert to use Latin script?
