The latest book I have read was "And then there were none-- by Agatha Christie" 

However I would not recommend it to you as you are still Beginner at English, but I would like to suggest you few good short stories book which are certainly enjoyable and helpful for getting hang of English. 

The names of the books are as follows:

1. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory- Roald Dahl

2. Kiss Kiss- Roald Dhal.

3. Eggs, Beans and Crumpets--P. G. Wodehouse.
