What do you think is the most important thing when picking a Major? I find this topic very interesting and want to see some other points of view about it. Given the fact that we oftenly hear a lot of reasons but some of them are really bad and unrealistic.

the first thing that you have to consider is your passion. ask your self first, what do i want to be? what is my aspiration in life? if i were to choose a profession, where will i be happy and where will i be satisfied?  the motivation is one the best keys to successfully finish any kind of major.  if you are not sure of the path that you are taking, you'll definitely get lost at the end of the day. how can you give your best if you lack interest on your major?
mmm.. maybe assess yourself too.know your fortes. what are the skills and the talents that you've got? it will make learning easier. since  you can relate your past experiences and stock knowledge to what you are studying. not just that, it could also make the learning process lighter and much  more interesting. you are learning and at the same time, you are having fun.

Focus on the return of investment .

For example , how much money will you be making per year after you graduate.

the unemployment rate . Will it be easy to find a job before or after graduation .

And lastly , get something on STEM  = science , technology , engineering and mathematics .and with the exception of account , finance and information system those are good , too.
