Sometimes we will talk about "the yearly salary",but most of the time in Taiwan we just talk about salary with a month when we interview a job (of course will have some Year-end bonuses.)
I know in NZ not like Taiwan, they always talk about the yearly salary when they interview a job, and will pay the salary weekly,it's so different from Taiwan!
How about your Country?
In the US, for white-collar jobs, they usually talk about yearly salary and we get paid every two weeks (or twice a month, usually on the 15th and the 30th/31st). Some office workers are eligible for overtime and sometimes their salary is discussed in hourly terms Most blue-collar, manual, retail, or food jobs are discussed in terms of hourly pay, even well-paying jobs Some are paid weekly and others are paid every two weeks
Dont worry Elaine, execept of English -speaking countries, the rest of the world is normal. We talk about monthly salary, not yearly.
Especially Britishes like to complicate everything:).
