About ancient chinese Hi everybody! Im a Chinese learner and Im really really interested in Chinese culture. Currently being an exchange student in China, I know quite a lot about the Chinese way of living, mentality and stuff, so Id like to get deeper in the culture and one of the things that Id like to learn about is ancient Chinese. I attend a Chinese high school so I know how Chinese people study it, but for foreigners it's totally different. So, does anyone have advice about how to get started? (websites, books or anything else are ok)

It's great to know you have interest in Ancient chinese, which  uses another system of gramma, vocabulary. I am quite good at it cuz when I entered primary school I began to read a lot of ancient poems and short passages to cultivate the sense. I recommend you to begin with short poems, in this way you can get familiar with some basic words and the sentence structures, then you can find some classic short passage of ancient chinese to get deeper

Just a quick question for Francesca: I'm curious to know how far back in "ancient Chinese" are you thinking of studying? Every era has its peculiarities, and but much of what we read today are from the Tang and Song dynasties.

One of the commentators mentioned Ximalaya. I find that app a fantastic repository for scholars and specialists in a wide variety of subjects, including poetry. Some require payment, but if you can download it, head over and listen to 蒙曼 (教授) 品最美唐詩。 Thats enough for a precursor to your studies.

I guess the rest would be from Baidu, if you can read through the dense explanations that usually accompany these poems.
