Art cities

The Italian art cities constitute one of the most appreciated destination of cultural tourism. Thanks to their variety of monuments, churches, castles, museums and historic dwellings, Italian art cities are ideal for whoever wants to travel and discover sites all year round.

Italian art cities are several: Turin, Milan, Venice, Bologna, Ferrara, Florence, Perugia, Rome, Naples and Palermo but not only.

All house an historical, artistic and architectural heritage, which represents centuries of History. They were often house of government, such as principality, and theatre of significant historic event. Thanks to the influence of important families who ruled them or lived there, they were repeatedly restructured and embellished.

Patterned after the original urban archetype, whether it be a castrum or a medieval hamlet, Italian art cities witnesses/stand as the vestiges of bygone days, preserved in spite of their transformation. The presence of great artists and patrons influenced the cultural atmosphere of these cities but only because of their intense activity that these places became real art-venues.
You will have the choice of enjoying the visiting of these veritable ‘’open air’’ museums unearthing their most modern and lively aspect. Following walking route, you will discover handcraft shops and workshops, market stalls, country fairs, festivals and open-air theatre, which combine tradition, culture and pleasant time.
