One of my favorite professors who I really care about is going to move to another country,
So we (some of his students) want to give him something as a gift, to remember us.
We want something unique and meaningful to him.
Do you any suggestion? What kind of gifts are common in your country to give to a good teacher?
A book on his subject. There is a good chance that he likes some out of print book, or something arcane, and he doesnt own it himself. It might even be a biography of some expositor in his field. Altho this is less likely.
With some discrete questions you might be able to find out his favourites.

After finishing my master's degree, I gave to my supervisor a fountain pen. You can choose kind of pen you would like to give, there are plenty of designs or bands...
So I think giving kind of this gift is a good idea.
