Muhammad Yahya
I need to assess my writing here, Could you help :) :) :)

You have seen an advertisement for a weekend job as a local tour guide showing visitors around your city.

Write a letter of application to the tourism office, In this letter ...
- Give your reasons for wanting the job.
- Explain why you think you can do this job.
- Describe any relevant experience you have.

.......................................................................................................

My Answer :

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you with regard to the advertisement which was about the weekend job as a local tour guide.

I am a student at the Faculty of Tourism. Consequently, I think this job would be a great chance to practice my future job. In addition, I have been prepared very well to deal with tourists and handle their inquiries. This was a considerable part of my daily study last semester.

Moreover, other than my native Arabic tongue, I have a very good command in English beside my quite well French, so I am sure I can exhibit a proper response among visitors in conversations.

Furthermore, I was born in the city and I have lived all my lifetime here. Therefore, I have the necessary knowledge about all the historical places and most of monuments in our city. In other words, I will not take much time to be ready for work.

I look forward to getting your response.

Yours faithfully,
Muhammad Yahya

Overall it is well written and easily understandable.  There are a few minor errors that do not change meaning but could be phrased a little better.  Your English writing is very good, my friend.

* give your reasons for wanting the job * you missed out this;  you did not say why you want the job; only what benefits it would give you not the company you are applying to. They want to know what you can give them not what they can give you. Try not to make your letter sound like you are maybe using them.

Dear sir or madam

I am a student at the Faculty of Tourism. Currently in the final year of a three-year diploma course. I have an A level in English and French which I gained from the school of Languages in my hometown of Algiers. I have a keen interest in the tourist and hospitality Industry. I enjoy meeting tourists and assisting tourists to get a real sense of the culture of my Country.

I am looking to find employment that gives me the opportunity to further my goals of becoming a full-time manager of a tourist agency like your company. To continue to train throughout my career and to eventually be able to become a senior supervisor.

beside = next to

besides =apart from / also.

"you will receive many comments from people who will tell you this is wrong, that beside = also/ apart from or that they mean the same" look in a good dictionary.

I don't have to convince you , John

I am not enrolled in a course and I have no teacher to produce pieces to. I study myself, and I try to get help online. I found this question in the book "Grammar for IELTS" 2007 issuance page 25 , You didn't believe me, well , You could ignore the discussion rather than saying these demoralizing words.! At all , Thanks for your disheartening comment.
