There's a light in the end of the tunnel

This sentence is so encouraging, whenever I feel I sink into despair and the negative thoughts I remember it. I know there are multiple and countless sources to disappoint any person in his/her lifetime but we should face and overcome them.

A similar one to put your money where your mouth is, is:

'Actions speak louder than words' which means people are more interested in what you're doing (or maybe not doing) than what you're saying.

One of my favourites although it's a bit 'rude' is 'It's better to keep your mouth shut and seem an idiot, than speak and prove it!' the meaning is fairly simple but some of my more sarcastic/rude teachers would say that to someone in a lesson who said something that was very wrong, although obviously it's not a friendly or polite way of saying it.

Another good one is: 'Don't beat around the bush' it means 'Get to the point!' 'stop talking around/avoiding the subject.' It's common in UK English and comes from hunting when people beat the bushes to drive the birds into the air so the hunters can be shot at, if you beat around the bush the bird won't fly out so the hunters can't hunt!

And one more because I love idioms: 'to burn the candle at both ends' which means 'to stay up late and get up early' 'to make yourself tired through lack of sleep' e.g. Where's Tom? He's in bed, he's been burning the candle at both ends preparing for his exams!
