'Direction ' is a false friend for Spanish speakers.
If you want to tell someone where you live, you give them your address. Apartment 6, 55 King Street, Bridgetown is an address.
In English, the word 'direction' refers to north, south, east, west, up or down, left or right. For example, if you give someone directions, you tell them to walk up the street and turn left at the crossroads.
As Chris says, they are completely different words.
