My idea is that it will be a modified form of English--call it "World English"--which, rather like Basic English, will be created and maintained by an international committee of scholars. It will probably have phonetic spelling and simplified grammar, but it will probably allow all of the words of natural English (rather than artificially restricting it as Basic English does).

It will be very frustrating to native speakers of national forms of English--US English, Canadian English, British English, Australian English, etc. because they will need to learn both their native English and also World English. And many of them will not learn World English well, and other speakers of World English will complain about their use of "dialect!"

it will be the language of whichever software global corporation rises to global and intergalactic dominance. One day language as we know it will not be needed so much in daly life, for things such as directions for travel, there will be an international set of symbols and recognised colors to indicate the way to go. With all countries adopting the same symbols and colors no more getting lost in the airport.

I have read a science fiction. The future Esperanto is a language that is a mixture of Chinese and English.
It seems that Singapore has done this now, their Singlish is already in embryonic form.lol
