My favorite holiday is one that is not commercialized to a great degree.  They have ruined Christmas for me, and they have given Halloween such prominence that it is hard to keep it a secret from my kids, who I am trying to bring up without celebrating that holiday due to our religious beliefs.

Memorial Day is a good one.  It’s a day when we can think about those who gave their lives fighting for our country. It is a holiday we can still celebrate with some dignity with family.

The  holiday which is widely celebrated in the south asia, west asia and middle east, etc is Eid. It is actually this week starting from Wednesday till Friday but this year everyone will get a long holiday I guess. It is called sweet Eid in my country because you visit your relatives and eat desserts all day long. People dress up in bright and beautiful clothes and children receive money and gifts from their elders.
