Jeff
Storybook Fantasies

Before signing off for the weekend, this is a poem I had written a long time ago.  It was one of the very first ones I tried in poetry writing.  I had left the last two lines out because of personal reasons, the crux and punchline to the poem.

The mission, if you choose to accept...  Is to complete those two missing lines.  Have a great weekend.  I know, I will for I am going off to another summer party again!

Storybook fantasies and princely tales,

With demons to subdue and dragons to slay.

Spread my wings across the ocean blue,

To search for wondrous sights faraway.

Enchanted castles on mountain tops,

And deep valley greens to speed across.

On my silver steed and with my thirsty sword,

I battle towering giants and mighty kings.

Wizard spells and witches brew,

Faerie wands and elfin rings.

Hidden treasures in magic caves,

With fearsome griffins guarding in the day.

On flying carpets I flew,

Rubbing lamps for djinns of blue.

Fiendish dwarfs I slew,

And hideous trolls that lay the way.

Too private are these last two sentences for me to say,

So join in the fun if you dare to come and play.

Good except that you have some grammar errors in the last line,

Tales are games so children can play
