How can I immigrate to America?

Hi, there. I'm a Chinese girl who is going to start my master degree in America the next year. After my graduation 2 or 3 years later, I want to stay there and get a citizenship. I know it is hard, especially for Chinese to stay there. I need some suggestions on this issue. And I wanna know which city would u choose to stay if u put urself in my shoes. THANK U!

If you mean the US.  You have 3 choices, from the easiest (not necessary the best) is to

1.  Married to a US citizen!

2.  Seek persecution status (claiming you are being harrassed by Chinese authorities because you are a Christian, political assylum)

3.  Find a critical job that an US citizen can't or unwilling to do.

Of course there are other ways too.  Have $1 million to invest ie to be able to employ at least 5 (depending on the type of business, etc) US citizens until you get your green card.  The immigration lottery is not open to countries like China, Philippines, etc.  The number of people is over the quota.  A typical wait for a new applicant from Philippines can take about 20 years!

Thank you for your advice. uhm, but maybe I am not going to get a phd there. The fee is to high for me to afford. But maybe I will try to get certificate in CPA and get a job in "big four" in America if that is possible. If I can get a permanent job in one of the "big four", I may have a better chance to stay I think.

Get a Phd in Accounting, then get a job as a professor - easier to get immigartion status then.
