I've met a couple of friends here on this website and on another one. At first everyone look like they really want to know a new language or to improve their skill. But after a while almost everyone seems to lose their interest and I always find myself here alone. Why does this happend?
Luckly it's not always like that. I even met a couple of persons in the real life but I start to think this is just a pure case!

I get your point.. English for me is a hobby.. in which I put all my passion. I like this language so, as you told, I want to gain new knowledge, new words and so on and I never get satisfied by myself!

I think it is because most people learn languages for work, school, or in order to pass a test, so once they reach this goal, they stop their learning and 'retire'. Those of us that learn for fun or as a hobby, can't get enough of it and we are always striving to improve our vocabulary and gain new knowledge, so we last a little longer. People tend to get bored of things that are the same or are obligatory so language learning is not for everybody. In order to learn a language, it is crucial that the person enjoys it and doesn't see it as homework. :)
in my opinon,people get bored of serious things quickly :)....so don't make it very serious all time

Well I agree partially with you ... I think that even if you reach a higher level you always need to find someone to talk to, if you want to improve your skill. So, sites like this one will always be important.
Of course, if you find 10 persons and you can use skype or other methods to talk to them .. yeah you dont need this website anymore.
But in my experience, I found that most people gave it up just after a couple of months... Maybe, as you told me before, they had to pass an exam; or maybe , they simply were curious about learning some new words in another language!
