Tá mé ag foghlaim Gaeilge freisin.  I have taken over forty classroom lessons (each 2 hours) taught by a local teacher. But the classes only reinforce what I am learning on my own. Here are 3 ideas that I use.

I have a free app for my iPod called TuneIn Radio. When I have wifi available I use it to
listen to Raidió Na Gaeltachta and Raidió Fáilte nearly every day. I prefer Raidió Fáilte
because it is from NI and the speakers use an Ulster dialect, as well as speaking more
slowly than those on Raidió Na Gaeltachta. After 18 months of learning Irish I now
recognize two or three words per sentence.

Another iPod app is Irish by Living Language by Random House Digital. There are some free
sample lessons. But it is very worthwhile to take the next step and access the 46 lessons
that come with in-app purchases ($3.99 per level for Essential, Intermediate, or Advanced
or complete set for $9.99). There are interactive games, vocabulary flashcards,
comprehensive grammar notes and dialogues with native speakers. This app is becoming one
of my favourite ways to learn Irish.

For YouTube learning I recommend the series of 28 episodes of "Now You're Talking". Each
30-minute lesson includes role plays and skits with native speakers using simple phrases.
The narrator carefully explains the meaning and shows the way the words are spelled.
