Hi all.Let's share our favorate ways to learn a foreign language. With the development of technology, learning is more than reading a textbook in the classroom. We can chat online, play computer games, see films and TV shows, etc. When I'm learning English and Japanese, I like seeing films, cartoons, and listening to music. So, what's everyone's way when learning a foreign language?
The best method is having many different methods. Any single method is unlikely to work well. So what you do, getting input from many source, is certainly a good thing.
Include also reading, and also formal learning.
The best way to learn a new language is to expose yourself to it as much as possible!
Watching videos is good, because it can give you context...listening to music is nice because you listent to it over and over again, so if you learn the words, grammar, and context, you can get a lot out of it!
This requires more dedication, but READING is a great way to build up some vocabulary and to become familiar with different ways of expression. It may not directly translate into conversation ability, though. Reading aloud with the assistance of a native reader's voice as a guide can help with pronunciation.
But NOTHING beats actually conversing with somebody in the language about things that are relevant to you. The key is CONSISTENCY!
